Understand the Medico-Legal risk landscape and be confident in how to navigate it for the wellbeing of yourself and your patients.
This course will look at how best to communicate with patients, colleagues, your indemnity organisation and lawyers. It will cover the way in which a claim works including the law and the central importance of records and evidence both factual and expert. It will provide you with a clear appreciation of the synergy between the law, the facts and the evidence in the life of a claim and how you can optimise all the relationships involved.
With the right toolkit you will be better placed to prevent the occurrence of an adverse event, but if one should occur you will also be better equipped to minimise the chance of a claim ensuing or, if it does, manage yourself through the process to achieve the best outcome.
The course will be interactive including case examples and discussion. We will also compile top tips and objectives to take away as we explore these areas to add to your toolkit.
